Last week, we flew to Austin, Texas with Big Kenny Alphin of Big & Rich to speak at the Texas Global Food Security Summit hosted by the Eleanor Crook Foundation, University of Texas at Austin’s Lyndon B. Johnson School, and the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF). The Summit was held on the eve of the annual AFBF conference.

We had the opportunity gift a copy of The End of Hunger to every attendee.

There were incredible speakers from USAID, UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and even the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!

The various panels included experts on U.S. Agriculture and Farming Community Leading the Way in Global Food Security; Driving Research and Innovation; and Civil Society Leadership in Combating Global Hunger.

One of my favorite people, Jeremy Everett, the executive director of the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, moderated this last panel on Civil Society Leadership on which both Kenny Alphin and I spoke. Our panel was recorded live for Facebook, and you can see it HERE in its entirety. Kenny even closes with a poem to rally the crowd to end hunger by 2030!

Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX-23) closed the event followed by Sid Miller, the Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

We were excited to be a part of this excellent event managed by the Kyle House Group.
