Yesterday, it was beyond exciting to finally FINALLY see The End of Hunger: Renewed Hope for Feeding the World out in print! There is something so amazing to see an abstract idea come together in tactile form that is almost a miracle.
There are so many thank yous, I’m not sure where to begin! Most of all, thank you to Cathleen Falsani – my co-editor – for her long months (three years!) of slogging through what it takes in terms of strategy, outreach, engagement, crafting, and editing pieces to shape a whole book of this kind. She was an absolute soldier walking through this with us, and we can’t thank her enough for her unequivocal expertise and talents to make this book what it is.
Thanks to Ethan McCarthy, our managing editor at InterVarsity Press for his guidance, brilliant ideas, patience, and direction to shape the book, including the table of contents, for an amazing final product. We were honored to work with him and InterVarsity Press to do this.
A huge thanks to all the contributors who generously donated their time, energy, writing, and support for the idea of this book gratis for a collection of readable writings from experts to activists. It was a privilege to work with every single author, and we are so proud of this eclectic collection of writers and contributors. It’s what makes this book both exciting and fun to read.
Many thanks also to our endorsers who took the time to write thoughtful endorsements for the book which have been so humbling and heartfelt. We are privileged that you all were willing to write these for us and for the book.
Thank you to Jane Lynch Crain and Amy Fogleman at The 2030 Collaborative for reading (and re-reading!) the book countless times for edits, readability, and offering constant critiques and opinions to make the book better every step of the way.
And finally thank you to our Launch Team who agreed so generously to pre-order the book and write reviews on Amazon.com! You guys are the absolute best for all your amazing support!
We were thrilled to celebrate the birth of the book at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center yesterday with contributors Ambassador Tony Hall, Will Moore, Roger Thurow, Kimberly Flowers, and Rev. David Beckmann. It was fitting to share the book on the Hill where our hope is generate awareness, renewed fervor, fresh innovation for advocacy and implementation on the complex issues of hunger and food security. We need the continued bi-partisan support of our Congress to protect and increase funding for global nutrition, especially in the U.S. global health account – this year and for years to come.
You can buy the book here today! We would be honored if you might consider it for your book club, Sunday School classes, or community events! We can end hunger by 2030. We just need the political will to do so.
